Croup cookies..

Croup Cookies....
Im selling them for $1.00 a peice. Now, heres the story behind them....

Zack and I made some REALLY cute cookies for Christmas yesterday. They turned out soooo good! We iced them and decorated them and tried to get Wyatt to come and act interested so 10 yrs from now when he asks me "Why am I not in the pictures, Mom?", I can pull it out and say "seee - here you are." LOL Wyatt was wacthing his beloved Choo-Choo movie (polar express) and absolutely had ZERO interest in what was going on in the kitchen...anyhoo... so Zack and I made the cutest cookies. (pics to follow later)

EVERY single batch I got out of the oven, Zack coughed allll over. Let me remind you he has the croup. At first, I was being nice and telling him to "watch out, honey" or "Make sure we dont cough on the cookies" and "PLEASE cover your mouth!" Then, I just realized it was useless and let him cough lol...He proceeded to cough and gag all over the whole batch of cookies. Every single one of them - I dont think even one tiny one was sparred.

So these are our "croup cookies." Im selling them with a sign that says "gauranteed to give you or anyone else you dont like, the croup within 48 hrs of consumption." ......

Want one?? ;)

The night before the night before Christmas....

Well lets see, both of my kids are sick. It all started Saturday morning when Z had a fever.... z never has fevers.. so this was odd... It got progressively worse over the course of the weekend ending with a 103.6 fever last night before bed! I normally do ok with fevers.... 102 kind of gets me edgy, but 103 and above really scares me.. he didnt know it at the time, but he was 2 popsicles away from a trip to the ER if it didnt come down soon! Luckily, with Tylenol and motrin, it did..... Then Wyatt started... I could tell he was getting sick when the whineyness started and the no eating. You can always bet if Wy is not eating, hes sick lol. So I took both the little sickards into the Dr today. The diagnosis is Croup for Z that has attacked his vocal cords.. poor guy cant even hardly talk lol.. I laugh at him bc he laughed at me when I was squeaking at him when I had it lol... Wyatt is basically the same thing Z has... he gave me some amox in case I feel his ears are getting infected over the next few days since he has that predisposition.... so....hopefully everyone will be fine for Christmas!

Which brings me to my next point.. Christmas...

today is 12/22. Tomorrow is 12/23 - aka the most boring day in the world. I remember when I was little, I use to dread the 23rd bc it was the day before we did all the fun stuff! We always opened ours on the 24th and I would drudge around the house looking for something pass the time.... 20 yrs later, this is no different. I still dread this day... its the day before everything starts. What in the world do you do all day!?? Then its Christmas day and then you open all the gifts then on the 26th Im all depressed bc its over. All there is left to do is take down all the junk and find places to put all the new junk... Dont get me wrong, I love Christmas, but this is just the reality of it lol...

On a good note, we got to see our "Emma" today :) Mrs.Knight was on her way to the mountains and had the dogs in the car and dropped by so we could see her! Shes soooo sweet! And soooo TINY!!!! Im scared to death we are going to fall on her and smoosh her. we should get her next week :) Yay!

Another thing on my mind....Babies.

Im wishy washy when it comes to baby 3. Yet, I had the weirdest feeling today.... I just heard of someone that is having twins (you know who you are hehe) and another friend just had a baby today... and it made me for a sec get that feeling in the pit of your stomach that you want one too.. if you are a woman - you know what Im talking about. Its really weird bc I havent felt that way since I felt that way about wanting to have Wyatt... weird.... I also recently found out that I will have to take Heparin ( or some variation of) shots if I DO have another.. that makes me iffy too.. but ... anywhoo.....that was weird lol..
Well Im off to watch the Duggars :)
night :)

Wow its been a looooong time, huh?

I've really wanted to sit down and blog lately, but just haven't really had the time or patience to do so. Everytime I sneak upstairs lately, I have a follower in about 2 seconds, so that leaves me no time to write my thoughts lol....

A bunch of stuff has been going on in the past month.. let me see...

- ummm I maxed out my credit card for Christmas...oops did I just say that outloud? lol..

- Ive been subbing at Zack's school a lot and that is taking up a lot of my internet time... sigggh

- we are getting a puppy :) Zack has named her Emma.. more to come on that later...

- I got a new camera... ok this is boring stuff, isnt it?

Lets see.....Zack told me the other day that he is in "love." Emma is his new girlfriend and she asked him to hold her hand in Library, so he did "bc thats not bad." lol..... Hence the name of the d-o-g.... we have absolutely no sayso in this matter.. but its ok, Emma is a cute name :) She is a mini Dashund and will be ready soon after Christmas! We are all excited.

I subbed for Kindergarten the other day and boy, it totally reminded me WHY Im NOT cut out for teaching K! Oh my.. I thought everything was going fine and it wasnt too bad until I realized someone was crying bc I told him to stop and sit up. geeze lol...

Zack has his school party tomorrow and I will be there all day pretty much....Im tired and going to bed..

Oh heres a pic I found earlier on this crazy funny blog about cakes... its hilarious! LOL

2 days going on 3....

With ZERO paci in my son's mouth! wow!!!

He did this all by himself - I had been cutting the tip off for a few days now and cut it down a little further on Monday. He could still get it in his mouth, but just didn't want it anymore. Sooo, we havent been giving it to him. Its been laying around and it currently on my nightstand and he has seen it several times, but just doesnt want it :) Im excited and sad at the same time over this!!! He will be 2 next Thursday also! :( :)

He has also been using the potty really well! I have been sick with a monster of a cold and havent been working with him as diligently as I should or could, but this morning he told me he had to peepee... we went and he DID!!!!! I have one pack of huggies left and after that pack, its PULLUPS!!! His vocabulary has been expoding this week it seems like.. he has been saying lots of new words....hes getting to be such a big boy!!!

I dunno....

I don't know what to title this post... just a few things that I have learned over the last few days.
I know this is going to sound really conceited and arrogant of me, but I have learned that my child, Zack, is really a good kid. YOu know, you worry about these things alot and you just don't know. Well, Ive had the opportunity to do a little spying at school lately, and he really is just one of those good kids. Now, I hope and pray this continues and doesn't change for the worse as he gets older.

I subbed Thurs and Fri at school. Thursday, I was the Kindergarten Intervention teacher and Friday, I was one of the 1st grade teachers. I was able to do lots of spying and checking up on friends, ect... There are a few boys I do not want him even breathing the same air as, and others that are not as bad as I had once thought. It was a very eye-opening day for me. I learned that Zack is really well behaved in class. He does what he is suppose to do, is not rowdy and basically just sits and listens and does his work. Im so proud of him. I have the opportunity to eat lunch with him and his friends on both days and just sat back and watched for the most part. Zack was sitting in between 2 girls. The girls were fussing and doing the typical "tell her I said this, tell her I said that.." thing and Zack was the go between guy. Well, long story short, one girl told Zack to tell the other girl not to be this one girl's friend.. and Zack said "no, Im not doing that." I asked him about this later on the way home and he said that its not fair for someone to tell you who you can and cannot be friends with....( insert big huge smile from me here)...he also went on to tell me that later in the day on the playground he told that particular girl to stop saying that to others. He said " A strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others." :) :) :) (He heard this on Barnyard for those of you who havent seen it) I was unbelievably proud.

I know he has issues sometimes with drama and not listening, as all kids do. Im not saying hes perfect, but I got to see him in a new light last week.. the Zack he is when noone is around. I was so proud of him and so proud to see him behaving like he should. He really is a good kid and I do love him sooo soo much! :)

Politics from a 6 yr old

Zack voted at school yesterday :) He got in the car and I asked him who he voted for and he said "well, its not nice to ask that and tell anyone who you voted for." (snicker)

Allright, fine.. I said, "you are right.. but Im your mommy and you can tell me." He said "Barack Obama." I said "oh, ok." (greeeeat, I think.)

Well, later on, we were sitting in the living room and he said "Mom, why did you not vote for Obama?" I said "well, he just believes in some things that we don't think is right and dont believe in." He thought for a second and said "oh, like he believes in fairies?" (lol) I said "yeah, probably." LOL

Halloween is over...

I am normally all excited and looking forward to Halloween..not to say I wasn;t this year, but on a much smaller scale. By the time the actual date rolled around, I was pretty much trick-or-treated OUT. We went a million different places it seems, before the actual date of Halloween and already had tons of candy. And I don't know about you, but about the 5th time I struggle to dress my almost 2 yr old up like a mouse, Im almost over it.

And then there was the relentless Jango Fett costume that Zack wore. I tried so many times to get this poor child to take his light saber with him, only to be reminded about a thousand times by my husband and 6 yr old, that "Jango Fett does not use a light saber , Mom..only JEDIS have light sabers." Oh well, excuuuuse me lol... I refused to buy him the $20 gun that actually goes with the costume... I know, Im a bad mom... but come on - the child has like 6 light sabers! Who cares if its a little detail that he doesnt use one in the real movie... cant he just pretend?? lol...

Wyatt is bound to have about 10 cavaties. All the child did from sun up halloween day till 10pm was eat suckers. Its the only thing he can open lol.... everytime I turned around, he had a dumdum sticking out of his mouth.

Noone in my n'hood was home :( Everyone does the church thing these days and while thats fun (We did it too), its still not the same as going around house to house and walking in the dark. There were only a handful of houses giving out candy and actually had their lights on.. I was soooo bummed. :( We still managed to walk around the n'hood till about 8:30 and get some good stuff, but I was soooo disappointed that more people werent into the fun.

I caught Wyatt laying down face first on the stairs about 9pm. Imagine a mouse butt sticking in the air and him laying on the stairs. He had a sucker in his mouth and was determined NOT to let us see it LOL... I asked him if he had one in his mouth and he said "ummmmm, nu-uh." LOL.. the little stink...this went on for about 10 minutes hehe

Well, I hope everyone had a spooky, chocolatey, fun Halloween :) Im retiring the mouse and star wars outfits till the next consignment sale lol..

Oh look! Now my kids have proof that I was there too! lol..
