With ZERO paci in my son's mouth! wow!!!

He did this all by himself - I had been cutting the tip off for a few days now and cut it down a little further on Monday. He could still get it in his mouth, but just didn't want it anymore. Sooo, we havent been giving it to him. Its been laying around and it currently on my nightstand and he has seen it several times, but just doesnt want it :) Im excited and sad at the same time over this!!! He will be 2 next Thursday also! :( :)

He has also been using the potty really well! I have been sick with a monster of a cold and havent been working with him as diligently as I should or could, but this morning he told me he had to peepee... we went and he DID!!!!! I have one pack of huggies left and after that pack, its PULLUPS!!! His vocabulary has been expoding this week it seems like.. he has been saying lots of new words....hes getting to be such a big boy!!!

I dunno....

I don't know what to title this post... just a few things that I have learned over the last few days.
I know this is going to sound really conceited and arrogant of me, but I have learned that my child, Zack, is really a good kid. YOu know, you worry about these things alot and you just don't know. Well, Ive had the opportunity to do a little spying at school lately, and he really is just one of those good kids. Now, I hope and pray this continues and doesn't change for the worse as he gets older.

I subbed Thurs and Fri at school. Thursday, I was the Kindergarten Intervention teacher and Friday, I was one of the 1st grade teachers. I was able to do lots of spying and checking up on friends, ect... There are a few boys I do not want him even breathing the same air as, and others that are not as bad as I had once thought. It was a very eye-opening day for me. I learned that Zack is really well behaved in class. He does what he is suppose to do, is not rowdy and basically just sits and listens and does his work. Im so proud of him. I have the opportunity to eat lunch with him and his friends on both days and just sat back and watched for the most part. Zack was sitting in between 2 girls. The girls were fussing and doing the typical "tell her I said this, tell her I said that.." thing and Zack was the go between guy. Well, long story short, one girl told Zack to tell the other girl not to be this one girl's friend.. and Zack said "no, Im not doing that." I asked him about this later on the way home and he said that its not fair for someone to tell you who you can and cannot be friends with....( insert big huge smile from me here)...he also went on to tell me that later in the day on the playground he told that particular girl to stop saying that to others. He said " A strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others." :) :) :) (He heard this on Barnyard for those of you who havent seen it) I was unbelievably proud.

I know he has issues sometimes with drama and not listening, as all kids do. Im not saying hes perfect, but I got to see him in a new light last week.. the Zack he is when noone is around. I was so proud of him and so proud to see him behaving like he should. He really is a good kid and I do love him sooo soo much! :)

Politics from a 6 yr old

Zack voted at school yesterday :) He got in the car and I asked him who he voted for and he said "well, its not nice to ask that and tell anyone who you voted for." (snicker)

Allright, fine.. I said, "you are right.. but Im your mommy and you can tell me." He said "Barack Obama." I said "oh, ok." (greeeeat, I think.)

Well, later on, we were sitting in the living room and he said "Mom, why did you not vote for Obama?" I said "well, he just believes in some things that we don't think is right and dont believe in." He thought for a second and said "oh, like he believes in fairies?" (lol) I said "yeah, probably." LOL

Halloween is over...

I am normally all excited and looking forward to Halloween..not to say I wasn;t this year, but on a much smaller scale. By the time the actual date rolled around, I was pretty much trick-or-treated OUT. We went a million different places it seems, before the actual date of Halloween and already had tons of candy. And I don't know about you, but about the 5th time I struggle to dress my almost 2 yr old up like a mouse, Im almost over it.

And then there was the relentless Jango Fett costume that Zack wore. I tried so many times to get this poor child to take his light saber with him, only to be reminded about a thousand times by my husband and 6 yr old, that "Jango Fett does not use a light saber , Mom..only JEDIS have light sabers." Oh well, excuuuuse me lol... I refused to buy him the $20 gun that actually goes with the costume... I know, Im a bad mom... but come on - the child has like 6 light sabers! Who cares if its a little detail that he doesnt use one in the real movie... cant he just pretend?? lol...

Wyatt is bound to have about 10 cavaties. All the child did from sun up halloween day till 10pm was eat suckers. Its the only thing he can open lol.... everytime I turned around, he had a dumdum sticking out of his mouth.

Noone in my n'hood was home :( Everyone does the church thing these days and while thats fun (We did it too), its still not the same as going around house to house and walking in the dark. There were only a handful of houses giving out candy and actually had their lights on.. I was soooo bummed. :( We still managed to walk around the n'hood till about 8:30 and get some good stuff, but I was soooo disappointed that more people werent into the fun.

I caught Wyatt laying down face first on the stairs about 9pm. Imagine a mouse butt sticking in the air and him laying on the stairs. He had a sucker in his mouth and was determined NOT to let us see it LOL... I asked him if he had one in his mouth and he said "ummmmm, nu-uh." LOL.. the little stink...this went on for about 10 minutes hehe

Well, I hope everyone had a spooky, chocolatey, fun Halloween :) Im retiring the mouse and star wars outfits till the next consignment sale lol..

Oh look! Now my kids have proof that I was there too! lol..
